Our field of business is partly very new, that means there are many complex terms out there. Here we explain some of the terms that are relevant for understanding what we do.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR)
The Good Tribe’s interest is to move CSR initiatives, which could be described as add-ons to the business core activities, which are operated when money and time allows for it, into the real core business of a company. We are interested in moving beyond corporate social responsibility.

Social entrepreneurship
Social entrepreneurship uses business and innovation strategies to address social and/or environmental problems.

Sustainability
Sustainability is what emerges when social, environmental and financial strategies converge as equals.

Sustainable lifestyles
Every person would define their sustainable lifestyle in a different way. The definition would depend on your personal background, geography, class, gender etc. The Good Tribe’s goal is that each and everyone need a strategy to reduce our negative social and environmental impact.

Up-cycling
Up-cycling is the process of converting trash into new products, which have a higher value than the trash.

Zero waste
Zero waste addresses waste, waste management and consumerism though the mantra reduce, reuse, recycle.
“Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use. Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and recover all resources, and not burn or bury them. Implementing Zero Waste will eliminate all discharges to land, water or air that are a threat to planetary, human, animal or plant health.”
